It's been one of those mornings today...We woke the kiddos up early, so that we could drive Daddy to catch his car pool. We have a to-do list that is quite a few miles long (literally...I have to drive around a bit today to take care of some errands and find my craft fair site for Saturday). The kids are already irritated with one another, to the extent that I have spent the last two hours breaking up continual fights and arguments. It looks like it will be a very looooong day...
The comforting factor in this day is that God reminds me in His word, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you still have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
We live in a world that is full of tribulation, whether it be the kids' fighting this morning, the layoff at work, the concerns of the people of the United States for the future of our great nation, the war in Iraq, or anything else that may be bothering your heart today. God, who was integral to the life of those children, who opens doors of opportunity after one has closed, who was integral to the birth of our great nation and who appoints leaders and authorities, and who knows the plans and purposes of wars, promises us peace in knowing that He has overcome this world. Remind yourself today that Christ has the victory in everything, and enjoy the peace that passes all understanding in knowing that Truth! Have victory in your life today! (Even on a Monday!)
I wish I could have read this yesterday. I was breaking up arguments all day as my son had off from school. The scripture verse would have been perfect.
