Proverbs 7 - From Naivety to Wisdom

"For at the window of my house
I looked through my lattice,
And saw among the simple,
I perceived among the youths,
A young man devoid of understanding..."
- Proverbs 7:6-7
As a young woman, I wasn't very bright. Sure, I was smart, got good grades when I applied myself, and worked hard. But when it came to young men, I was naive.

This Proverb speaks to young men, but it applies to both sexes. Women are painted as the manipulative seductress who lures the young and impressionable men into their traps. Men can be just as seductive and alluring. I know. I sucombed to their lure as a teen/young adult. I spent many years in multiple relationships that ended in a broken heart and regret.

That's why I hope to teach my own children the truths of the Proverbs, as well as the rest of God's written word. I don't want to see them come under the influence of sin as I did. My desire is for them to grow to be strong men and a mighty woman of God, able to see through temptation's disguise and to resist it in their love for Christ.
